Day 01: Yangon Arrival (L)
Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel for check in. Your exploration of Yangon will begin in the afternoon with a visit to Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, home to a 70-meter long reclining Buddha. Continue to a local tea shop for a chance to experience an integral part of Burmese life: drinking tea! Next, you will head to Kandawgyi Park, one of central Yangon’s greenest spots. Here you will see the glittering Karaweik barge, a replica of the royal barge, and the vast lake with views of Shwedagon in the background. From here, continue to pay homage to the famed 2500-year-old Shwedagone Pagoda. The great golden dome of Shwedagone Pagoda rises 99 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. At dusk, watch the sunset view over Yangon and enjoy a soft and constant tinkling sound of the pagoda bells striking in the late afternoon breeze, when it is spectacularly lit up and the pagoda’s gold leaf takes on an enchanting glow. Day 02: Tour in Yangon (B, L)
You will transfer to Yangon Railway station to take local circular train journey to the outskirts of town (20-30 minutes ride). The slowly traveling train gives you a unique opportunity to observe the lively and colorful life of the rural Burmese people. Disembark to visit Kyi Myin Dain market where a variety of street vendors sell colorful wares. After lunch, you will have some free time shopping Bogoyke Aung san market, best known for its colonial architecture, inner cobblestone streets and wide selection of souvenirs. Then enjoy a city tour by car around the local life of this colonial style city centre which is filled various historical buildings. Make a photo stop at the glittering 2000-year-old Sule Pagoda and tranquil Mahabandoola Park with Independence Monument. Afterwards, continue to the jetty along Strand Road and walk along Yangon River to see the busy harbour area, from where ferries leave for Pathein in the Delta and for upcountry towns along the Ayeyarwady River. Then a boat ride to enjoy the beauty of sunset over Yangon River and Yangon skyline. Visit the Chinatown Night Market then get back hotel. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 03: Yangon Departure (B)
After breakfast, enjoy your day at leisure with the car & guide at your disposal, until your transfer to airport for your own departure flight.
