With 3-4 days for a trip, it is better that you focus on visiting Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta where you will spend most time in the city and take a day tour to visit Mekong Delta then back to the city for spending the nights.
Long Itinerary in Southern Vietnam (5–7 days)
If the length of the trip is 5–7 days, you will have a deep & complete view of Southern Vietnam. Beside the two above destinations, you can also visit Phu Quoc Island in 3,4 days there or if you do not like to take many domestic flights, you can take a private car to Mui Ne or Nha Trang where they are also very popular for the beach.
