Hill Tribe Discovery (7 Days/6 Nights)

This trip will take you to the most isolated but also very beautiful area to the far north of Vietnam where you can see a lot of different tribe hills. Mostly untouched by tourists, you will have great chances to discover great nature, scenery as well as the hospitable of hill tribe people in the trip.

Destinations: Hanoi – Lao Cai – Sapa – Bac Ha – Ban Ho – Thanh Phu

Night 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai

In the evening, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Hanoi railway station for night train to Sapa. The train conditions are very basic however you will travel in soft sleeper class which is compartment for 4 passengers. Overnight on the train.

Day 1: Lao Cai – Bac Ha Market (Sunday Market) (B, L)

The train arrives at Lao Cai Railway Station at 06.00am, have breakfast at local restaurant before you set off on our scenic drive through the border town of Lao Cai to the colourful Sunday Market Bac Ha where you can meet all the minorities groups: Hmong, Tay, Thai, Dzao, Xapho…This is an amazing market and well known for its various handicraft. Dinner on guest’s account. Overnight at hotel in Bac Ha.

Day 2: Bac Ha – Nam Mon (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you start your trek on the small path to Nam Mon where Varigated H’mong and Tay ethnic people live. After that you will be guests and welcomed by a Tay family and their great hospitality and especially homemade rice wine at dinner. Homestay in Tay’s Hut

Day 3: Nam Mon – Coc Ly Market (Tuesday Market) – Sapa (B, L)

Breakfast will be cooked by your guide in the village, you leave Nam Mon for Trung Do village. This is also residential area of Tay ethnic group. Then you embark on boat on Chay River for Coc Ly market (2 hours cruise). Coc Ly Market the latest discovery market in the region offering a wide range of different colorful ethnic minorities, such as Hmong, Red Dzao, Tay, Phu La and Nung. After stroll around the market turn back to the car for transfer to Sapa. Upon arrival Sapa, check in and stay at hotel in Sapa. 

Day 4: Sapa – Y Ling Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B, L, D)

Begin trekking at 10.00 am down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai San, Lao Chai. You then continue to Ta Van village to visit Zay people. You will stay overnight with a local family in Ta Van. Accommodation is basic but a unique and special experience. Dinner and overnight on guest House.

Day 5: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Ban Ho (B, L, D)

Today, you continue to trek along small paths in the rice fields, cross the Muong Hoa River and arrive at the Tay village Ban ho. You stay overnight in a wooden Tay stilt house. Dinner on guest House.

Day 6: Ban Ho – Nam Toong Nam Ken – My Son – Thanh Phu (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will hike to Nam Sai Village to visit the Tay People then trek up to the Red Dzao Village – the smallest group in Sapa who have very little contact with modern Vietnam in My Son village. Continue trekking one hour to hills to Thanh Phu village lived a Tay ethnic group. You arrive Thanh Phu and stay overnight on Bamboo’s hut. Dinner on guest’s account.

Day 7: Thanh Phu – Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B)

After breakfast, you will trek to Ban Den place. From here, you are collected by our vehicle and transferred back to Sapa. Free time at leisure until transfer Lao Cai Station for catch night train to Hanoi. You will arrive in Hanoi in the early morning.
