Destinations: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Hue – Hoian – Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)

Transfer to visit Ho Chi Minh Complex which includes Mausoleum, Museum and his house on stilt to learn about his life during revolutionary activities in the past. Next, visit to the One Pillar pagoda which was built in 1049 and it has become an important symbol for the locals. Continue to visit the Ethnographic museum where you can learn the various life aspects of 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam. After lunch, visit to the Literature temple–the first university of Vietnam which was built in 1070–It’s gardens and well-preserved architecture will provide a relaxing insight into Vietnam’s past. Finally, enjoy a cyclo tour to visit Old Quarter & Hoan Kiem lake then watch a Water Puppet show.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D) 

Depart for Halong Bay, enjoying the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields. Upon arrival, board a cruise and start cruising around the bay to see the amazing karts with different formations and then stop for a walk through the Sung Sot cave–“Amazing Cave”. There will be plenty of time for kayaking, swimming and sunbathing (if weather permitted) after the cruise anchors at a clean calm sea. Enjoy a wonderful sunset dinner on the cruise before resting to the comfort of your room. Overnight on the cruise.

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Hue (B, L) 

Breakfast, fruits, coffee and tea will be served. Continue to cruise farther before stopover at the pearl farm to see the actual cultured pearl of fishermen. Back to the cruise for checking out while the cruise will take you farther to discover the hidden beauty of the bay. Cooking class opened right on the cruise for everyone who are interested in cooking Vietnamese food. Lunch will be served on the cruise before you arrive at the harbor. Drive back to the airport for a flight to Hue. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel.
Day 5: Hue City Tour (B, L)

Enjoy a boat trip on the romantic Perfume river to visit Hue’s best known religious sites, Thien Mu pagoda which was a hotbed of anti–government protest during the early 1960s. Then continue to discover Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 – 1945. After lunch, continues with a visit to the elaborate tombs of emperors Tu Duc & Khai Dinh. This guided tour gives you a deep understanding about King’s philosophy of geomancy and how this affected royal life.

Day 6: Hue – Hoian & Sunset Cruise (B)

Leave Hue for Hoian. Visit the fascinating Cham museum & Marble Mountains en route to charming Hoian, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries. Upon arrival, check in at hotel and have a short rest. Late afternoon, take a traditional boat to a local fishing village. Here, you will enjoy river culture, bird life, local farming and the other daily activities of the locals. During cruising, you will also try some local foods & drinks on boat.

Day 7: Hoian Tour – Siem Reap (B)

You will enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year old Tam Ky ancestral house and the Japanese Bridge. Continue with a visit to the home of a craftsman where you will discover the daily life of local people and see how they make a lantern. Later, transfer to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap.

Day 8: Angkor Thom & The Grand Circuit (B, L)

Transfer to visit Angkor Thom including Elephant terrace, Leper King terrace, Baphuon, Royal enclosure, Phimeanakas and Bayon temple. After lunch, continue to visit to the highlights of the Grand Circuit including Neak Poan, Eastern Mebon, Pre Rup and Preah Khan. Late afternoon, watch sunset over Angkor Wat then return to town. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 9: Angkor Wat & The Small Circuit (B, L, D)

Make a visit to Angkor Wat in the early morning to watch sunrise then get back hotel for breakfast (Optional).

Visit to the highlights of the Small Circuit including Prasat Kravan, Sras Srang, Banteay Kdei, Takeo and the jungle-clad Ta Prohm. After lunch, Visit to the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. In the evening, enjoy a dinner with traditional dance show. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 10: Siem Reap & Tonle Sap Lake – Departure (B, L)

In the Morning, transfer to visit the Elegant temple of Banteay Srei (“Citadel of the women”) and Banteay Samre. After lunch, transfer to Phnom Krom for a boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake. This is a great opportunity to learn about the life of the people in this village. Here, you can observe life in the Khmer stilt villages from the banks of the river as the local fisherman count their catch and prepare it for the markets. Return to the town then head to the airport for your own departure flight.
