Routes: Hanoi – Hai Phong – Cat Ba Island – Lan Ha Bay – Halong Bay
You will find this tour a great combination of trekking and kayaking. On Cat Ba Island you will trek through jungle and have a chance to see the panorama of Halong Bay from one of the mountain summits you would conquer during the trek. Kayaking in the wonderland of karst topography with 3,000 limestone islets and trekking through the national park with great view of Halong Bay from mountains’ summits. You will paddle amongst islets, visit hidden caves, lagoons, unspoiled beaches, floating fishing village and talk with local fish-man.
Day 1: Hanoi – Hai Phong – Cat Ba Island
In the early Morning, leave Hanoi for Hai Phong. Breakfast in Hai Phong. Take 1 hour hydrofoil to Cat Ba Island. Upon arrival in Cat Ba, you will check in hotel and spend the rest of the day to explore the town or relax on Cat Ba beach. Overnight at hotel on Cat Ba Island.
Day 2: Cat Ba National Park – Halong Bay (B, L, D)
After breakfast, take a beautiful bus ride along the coast to reach Cat Ba National Park. Today you will have a long trek across dense jungle to reach the peaceful village of Viet Hai. Short break at Frog Lake. After lunch you walk to Viet Hai Quay for a cruise on Lan Ha Bay. You will meet our overnight junk in Halong Bay late afternoon. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 3: Halong Bay (B, L, D)
After breakfast on the junk you start paddling to Van Chai Floating village and then continue paddling to Dark Cave. Tide permitting, you explore this amazing cave by kayak. After lunch on the boat, you paddle to Ba Trai Dao Lagoon, along a stunning and fairly rough sea channel, to explore its beautiful beaches. Continue paddling to Lan Ha Bay, which is smaller than Halong Bay but much more interesting with lots of secluded beaches. Cruise back to Halong Bay for dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L)
Breakfast on the junk and enjoy the sundeck of the junk while you navigates amazing rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay to get back to Halong City. Lunch on the junk before reach Halong Harbor for a drive back to Hanoi. On the way back to Hanoi you will have a stop in Dong Trieu for refreshment and visit the pottery village. Arrive Hanoi late afternoon. Trip is end at your hotel in Hanoi.
