Routes: Phnom Penh – Takeo – Kampot – Sihanoukville –Phnom Penh – Battambang – Siem Reap
This package tour shows you main tourist sites in South Cambodia including Phnom Penh, Takeo, Kampot, Sihanoukville, Kirirom National Park, Battambang and Siem Reap in 14 days.
Day 1: Phnom Penh - Arrival Day (L) On arrival Phnom Penh, you will be met and transferred to hotel for check-in. After welcome lunch, you will begin the exploration of the capital city by cyclo. You will visit the Royal Palace, Royal Residence, the Throne Hall or Vinichhay Temple, the Chan Chaya Pavillon and the Silver Pagoda. After this, you will walk about 10 minutes to the National Museum. You then enjoy a drink on the roof top of FCC restaurant, a nice spot to enjoy a whole view of Phnom Penh. Overnight in Phnom Penh Day 2: Phnom Penh – Takeo (B, L, D) After breakfast, you will leave Phnom Penh and drive to the South. On the way, you will stop to visit Phnom Tamao wildlife sanctuary and the two temples of Tonle Bati. After lunch, you will visit Phnom Chisor. Then, we drive to our homestay in the surroundings where you will be received by our host family. After a short rest you will help our host family prepare dinner and enjoy a friendly meal together. Overnight in homestay, Takeo. Day 3: Takeo - Kampot (B, L) After breakfast, you will enjoy a 40-minute boat trip along the canals of Takeo to visit the ancient Funan ruin temples of Phnom Da. After that, you will continue to Kampot. On arrival, you will relax at Epic Arts Café and have lunch at local restaurant. Later in the afternoon, you will take a boat on the Prek Kampong Bay River and passing through a Cham village. Overnight in Kampot Day 4: Kampot (Bokor Hill Station) (B, L) After breakfast we will drive to Bokor Hill Station. You will spend a full day in this eccentric and surprising site with a picnic lunch near the Popokvil waterfalls. Drive back to Kampot in the evening where you will have dinner. Overnight in Kampot Day 5: Kampot – Sihanouk Ville (B) You will begin the day with an early breakfast before leaving Kampot to Sihanoukville. Sihanoukville is Cambodia’s leading beach resort. There are white-sand beaches around the headland, unspoilt islands off the coast and the popular Khal Chhay waterfall near town. After check-in hotel, you will have a whole free afternoon to explore the beaches. Overnight at Sihanoukville Day 6: Sihanouk Ville (B, L) Today, we will organise a boat trip on the Gulf of Thailand. The boat will stop close to islands with rocky reefs providing a rich marine life for snorkelling before to shore to an island with uninhabited sandy beaches where you will relax while your guide will prepare lunch. Later, you will return to Sihanoukville with one or two more snorkelling stops. Day 7: Sihanouk Ville (B) Today, you will have a full day to unwind and enjoy the beautiful tropical environment. No activities are planned today, but there are many sights around the city which are interesting to explore. Overnight at Sihanoukville Day 8: Sihanouk Ville – Kirirom National Park (B, L, D) After breakfast, you will take the bus to Chambok Community-based Ecotourism Site. This place offers a wide range of outdoor activities and attractions such as trekking, hiking, bird watching, animal tracking or visiting a bat cave. You can also swimming in the stream, riding a bicycle or experiencing Khmer rural lifestyle on an ox-cart ride. You will stay at a traditionally fashioned Khmer house of a local farmer’s family and have dinner with the owners. Overnight in homestay, Chambok. Day 9: Kirirom National Park – Phnom Penh (B, L, D) After breakfast with our hosts, you will spend some time at the village area before to resume our journey to Phnom Penh. After check-in, you will go to the main center of the NGO “Pour un sourire d’enfant”. You will visit this place and watch a movie about their activities before having lunch at their vocational training restaurant “le Lotus blanc”. In the afternoon, we will drive to the Choeng Ek killing fields and the Tuol Sleng genocide Museum. Dinner and overnight in Phnom Penh Day 10: Phnom Penh - Battambang (B, D) Early in the morning, you will take the public bus to Battamang. After check in at the hotel, you will go for lunch at the White Rose. In the afternoon, you will stroll around the city to see the old colonial buildings, the small museum and Wat Kampheng, a colourful temple in a peaceful garden. Then, we will drive 11 km along the Sang Ker River to reach Wat Ek Phnom temple. On the way back you will stop at the NGO Phare Ponleu Selpak where many different activities are offered with children from poor and disabled families before having dinner with them. Overnight in Battambang. Day 11: Battambang (B) After breakfast, we will drive 18 km to Phnom Sampeu to visit two caves formerly used by the Khmer Rouge and enjoy a spectacular view of the countryside. Afterwards, you will go to Phnom Bannon which homes a12th century's temple and the cave of the holy water. Overnight in Battambang. Day 12: Battambang – Siem Reap (B) Early in the morning you will take a regular speedboat departing from Battambang to Siem Reap. After check in, you will visit the complex of Angkor Wat. Overnight in Siem Reap. Please note that if water levels are low the journey from Battambang to Siem Reap will be overland. Day 13: Siem Reap (B, L) Today after breakfast at the hotel, you will visit Handicap International, an NGO (Non governmental organisation). Then, you will continue to the Jayavarman VII Children’s hospital, Afterwards, you will have lunch at Palm Village where you will be able to refresh yourself with a swim in the swimming pool. In the afternoon you will visit Ta prohm and Angkor Thom. Overnight in Siem Reap Day 14: Siem Reap (B, L) This morning, you will visit some more temples of the Angkor complex. You will first stop at the temple of Prasat Kravan. Then, you will visit Banteay Kdei and the opposite Srah Srang Royal Bath. After lunch will be free to let you explore Siem Reap on your own.
