Routes: Siem Reap – Kampong Thom – Kampong Cham – Mondulkiri – Kratie – Phnom Penh
This package tour shows you main tourist sites in North Cambodia including Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Mondulkiri, Kratie and Phnom Penh in 14 days.
Day 1: Siem Reap – Arrival day (L) On arrival Siem Reap, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After lunch, you start to visit the temples of the Roluos group including Prasat Bakong, Prasat Preah Ko and Prasat Lolei. Overnight in Siem Reap. Day 2: Siem Reap (B) After breakfast, we will drive to the Angkor site. You will begin to explore the complex of Angkor Thom including the South Gate, Bayon, Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and Preah Khan. In the afternoon, you will visit Ta Phrom and Angkor Wat. Overnight in Siem Reap. Day 3: Siem Reap (B) Today we will drive to Koh Ker, the most remote ancient royal city of the Khmer Empire. On the way back, you will stop at the magnificent Banteay Srei temple – the Citadel of women. Then, you will visit the Cambodian Landmine museum and Rehabilitation Centre. Your last stop in today will be the temple of Pre Rup. Overnight in Siem Reap Day 4: Siem Reap – Kampong Thom (B, L, D) After breakfast, we will drive to Kampong Thom Province. Upon arrival, you will visit a rural village and take lunch at there; in the afternoon, you will ride bicycles to go to Sambor Prei Kuk. There are more than 100 small temples, scattered through the forest. In the evening, you will help the farmer to cook our dinner before sharing a friendly meal all together. Accommodation in homestay, Kampong Thom Day 5: Kampong Thom – Baray Village (B, L, D) After breakfast we will drive to Khmer Village Homestay, surrounded by green rice fields, traditional village houses and Palm Trees. You will spend the day at this place where you will be able to enjoy village tour by ox-cart or pony-cart, see a traditional Khmer dancing show, visit a weaving and woodcarving workshop or taste some delicious fresh fruit. Lunch and Dinner will be served at the homestay centre and you will sleep in bamboo huts and wooden houses. Overnight at Baray, in homestay Day 6: Baray Village – Kampong Cham (B) After breakfast, we will drive to Kampong Cham. You will visit Wat Nokor, a temple built from sandstone and laterite in the 11th century as well as Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei (“Man and Woman Hill”). You will have lunch at Hao An restaurant before check in at hotel. In the afternoon you will ride bicycles to the Koh Pean Island. On the way, you will be able to see the activities of the locals at the paddy field and inside the village. Overnight in Kampong Day 7: Kampong Cham - Mondulkiri (B, D) You will have an early breakfast before travelling to the province of Mondulkiri. The journey will take around five hours. On arrival at Sen Monorom, the quite provincial captial city of Mondulkiri, you will meet our host family and have a rest in their house, then you will help the farmer to cook our dinner before sharing a friendly meal all together. Overnight in homestay, Mondulkiri province Day 8: Mondulkiri (B ,L , D) Today you will enjoy an elephant trek from one of the minority ethnic villages. It will give you the opportunity to explore surrounding jungle, habitat and ethnic minority villages and will be for sure a memorable experience. Tonight, you will join our hosts for another friendly dinner and evening. Overnight at homestay Day 9: Mondulkiri (B, D) Today no activities are planned so you can choose between the many possibilities offered by the area. You will be able to explore the local market or you will also be able to visit some of the hill tribes’ villages and assist to a minority cultural show or make an excursion to a waterfall among the 100 present in this area. Tonight, you will join our hosts for another friendly dinner and evening. Overnight at homestay. Day 10: Mondulkiri - Kratie (B) After an early breakfast with our host family, you will travel to the province of Kratie by local transport. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. After lunch, you will go to the office of the Cambodian Rural Development Team project before driving 15km north of the town to enjoy a boat trip onto the Mekong to glimpse these rare and timid creatures at sunset. Dinner at a local restaurant in town. Overnight in Kratie. Day 11: Kratie – Phnom Penh (B) After an early breakfast, you will leave Kratie for an overland journey of about 7 hours by public bus. On the way you will stop for lunch at the village Skun. You will arrive at Phnom Penh in the beginning of the afternoon. After check-in, you will have some free time to relax or explore the city on your own. Overnight in Phnom Penh Day 12: Phnom Penh (B, D) In the morning, we will drive 35 km north of Phnom Penh to Oudong. Oudong was the royal capital between 1618 and 1866. After lunch in Oudong, you will continue our tour to the Choeng Ek killing fields and the Tuol Sleng genocide Museum - a mass gravesite and a former high school converted to a detention and torture centre by the Khmers Rouges when they came to power in 1975. In the evening, you will have dinner at Veiyo Tonle restaurant. Overnight at Phnom Penh Day 13: Phnom Penh (B, L, D) Today after breakfast, a cyclo tour will take us to the Royal Palace Complex including the Royal Residence, the Throne Hall or Vinichhay Temple, the Chan Chaya Pavillon and the Silver Pagoda. After that, you will walk about 10 minutes to the National Museum. Then, you will go for lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the city by cyclo. You will see the Independence Monument, Wat Lank Ka, the Prayuvong Buddha factory, the Cambodia-Vietnam Soldiers Monument, Wat Botum, and Wat Ounalom. Tonight, you will dine in the garden of Le Rit’s restaurant. Then you will enjoy a theatre performance at the Sovanna Phum Theatre. Overnight at Phnom Penh Please note that the Sovanna Phum Theatre shows are usually on Friday and Saturday only. The itinerary is subject to change according to your starting day. Day 14: Phnom Penh (B) This is departure day so no activities are planned. Check-out will be at noon and you are free to leave at any time
