It is always worthwhile to take a day trip to Hanoi’s surroundings for refreshment. Ninh Binh, with Tam Coc & Hoa Lu is an outstanding destination that has many attractions and stunning landscapes. Referred to as "Inland Ha Long Bay", the area of Tam Coc and Hoa Lu is characterized by the limestone geology that gives rise to the towering karsts that make this picturesque area so unique. On this enjoyable day trip, you'll be surrounded in a relaxed atmosphere by casually pedaling your way past green rice fields, along the waterways before visiting the ancient capital dates back to the 10th century.
In the morning: Our guide will pick you up at your hotel for a 3-hours drive along the Red River to Ninh Binh. Take a row boat and enjoy the vivid scenery of towering rock formations and visit the 3 inter-linking caves before coming back to the boat pier. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon: Take an easy 10km cycling into the heart of a local village, through its rice fields and experience real local life. Visit the two temples of King Dinh and King Le to study about their heroic & tragic lives in the 10th century. Drive back to Hanoi.
