Day 1: Hanoi (Vietnam) Arrival
Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
Transfer to visit Ho Chi Minh Complex which includes Mausoleum, Museum and his house on stilt to learn about his life during revolutionary activities in the past. Next, visit to the One Pillar Pagoda where was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 and it has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Continue to visit the Ethnographic Museum where you can learn the various life aspects of 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam. After lunch, visit to the Literature Temple–the first university of Vietnam, was built in 1070-it’s gardens and well-preserved architecture will provide a relaxing insight into Vietnam’s past. Continue with a cyclo tour to visit the Old Quarter and the Lake of the Restored Sword then enjoy water puppet show–an unique Vietnamese Art form hailing from Southeast Asia’s wet-rice culture. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Depart for Halong Bay, enjoying the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields. Upon arrival, boarding a cruise and enjoying the drink and having lunch of savory local seafood. Check-in to your room and start cruising around the bay to see the amazing karts with the different formations: Lion, Tea Pot, Toad, Dau Nguoi (Human Head) islet and then stop for a walk through the Sung Sot cave “Amazing Cave”. There will be plenty of time for kayaking, swimming and sunbathing (if weather permitted) after the cruise anchors at a clean calm sea. Enjoy a wonderful sunset dinner on the cruise before resting to the comfort of your room. Overnight on the cruise.
Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Hue (B, L)
Breakfast, fruits, coffee and tea will be served. Continue to cruise farther before stopover at the pearl farm to see the actual cultured pearl of fishermen. Back to the cruise for checking out while the cruise will take you farther to discover the hidden beauty of the bay, taking photos many islets with striking shapes such as frogs islet, turtle islet…Cooking class opened right on the cruise for everyone who are interested in cooking, especially cooking Vietnamese food. Lunch will be served on the cruise before you arrive at the harbor. Drive back to the airport in Hanoi for a flight to Hue. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Hue.
Day 5: Hue City Tour (B, L)
Enjoy a boat trip on the romantic Perfume river to visit Hue’s best-known religious sites, Thien Mu Pagoda which was a hotbed of anti-government protest during the early 1960s. Then continue to discover Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945 including Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace and Forbidden Purple City. After lunch, continues with a visit to the elaborate tombs of emperors Tu Duc & Khai Dinh. This guided tour gives you a deep understanding about King’s philosophy of geomancy and how this affected royal life. Overnight in Hue.
Day 6: Hue – Hoian & Sunset Cruise (B)
Leave Hue for Hoian. Visit the fascinating Cham museum and the Marble Mountains en route to charming Hoian, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries. Upon arrival, check in at hotel and have a short rest. Late afternoon, transfer through the countryside to a dock then board a traditional boat to a local fishing village. Here, you can enjoy the river culture, bird life, local farming and the other daily activities of the local people. During cruising, you will also try some local foods & drinks on the boat. Overnight in Hoian.
Day 7: Hoian Tour & Tra Que Village – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
You will enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year old Tam Ky ancestral house and the Japanese Bridge. Then you will visit to the home of a craftsman in the old street where you will discover the daily life of local people and see how they make a lantern. Later, take a short ride through the countryside to Tra Que village. Here, you will see a cooking demonstration for some local foods, enjoy a traditional foot massage then learn how to plant vegetables like local famers. Late afternoon, transfer to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City Tour & Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L)
Depart to Cu Chi Tunnels where are a maze of underground passages used by the Vietnamese Communists during the Vietnam War as protection against the American air raids. After lunch, drive back to the city to visit the War Remnants Museum-originally opened in September 1975, it exhibited the old military equipment and other related equipment from Vietnam War. Continue to visit the Reunification Palace, formerly the Presidential Palace that was the sight of South Vietnam’s surrender in April 1975. Walk down to see Notre Dame Cathedral and General Post Office which are beautiful examples of architecture from the French colonial period. Finish at the Ben Thanh market, where vendors display a wide range of goods and handicrafts, appealing to every taste. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 9: Mekong Delta Tour (B, L)
You will travel to the Mekong River Delta with a day trip to explore the rich culture & lush fluvial landscape. Upon arrival, taking a boat trip to discover Cai Be floating market where local people sell, buy and exchange goods on their boats. Next, transfer to a workshop in a village where you can see how the locals make rice paper, coconut candy & pop rice. Here, you will also enjoy free local’s specialty products, discover daily activities of locals and enjoy Vietnamese traditional music then take a small sampan rowing by hand of local to feel the real Mekong river. After lunch, free for short rest then visit to a brick kiln before taking another boat to Vinh Long, the center of tropical fruits and stopping for a short visit at Vinh Long market then transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City – Phnom Penh (Cambodia) (B)
After early breakfast, transfer to Bus Station for an express bus to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check in. Free at leisure. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 11: Phnom Penh Tour – Siem Reap (B, L)
Transfer to visit the main sights including Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, Friendship Monument, Independence Monument, National Museum and Wat Phnom. After lunch, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the site is a former high school where was used as the Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the communist Khmer Rouge regime from its rise to power in 1975 to its fall in 1979. Next, visit to the Killing Fields where large numbers of people were killed and buried by the Khmer Rouge communist regime which ruled the country during the late 1970s. In the evening, transfer to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 12: Siem Reap Tour (Angkor Thom & Angkor Wat) (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you set out to Angkor Thom’s imposing South Gate, topped with the four serenely smiling faces of Avalokiteshvara. Continue to the Elephant terrace and the Leper King terrace, former spaces for public ceremonies, both adorned with dramatic bas reliefs. Next, visit to the ruined Baphuon, Royal Enclosure and Phimeanakas before continuing to the mysterious Bayon temple. Here, you will also visit Ta Prohm temple, one of the most beautiful temples in the area. After lunch, visit to the Angkor Wat where is the largest & most impressive of all the temples and its one of the 7 wonders of the world. In the evening, enjoy a dinner in front of a traditional dancing show at the Apsara Theatre.
Day 13: Siem Reap Tour (Banteay Srey & Big Circuit) (B, L)
In the early Morning, you will enjoy the sunrise at Angkor Wat (Optional) and spend the whole morning to explore the greatest fine-art of Angkor Empire at Banteay-Srey temple where built in pink sandstone and the walls are covered in exquisitely preserved carvings of unusual delicacy. After lunch, you will visit the Grand Circuit of temples: Preah Khan, Prasat Kravan, Srah Srang, Neak Poan and Ta Som. Late afternoon, you will enjoy sunset at Pre Rup temple. Overnight Siem Reap.
Day 14: Siem Reap & Tonle Sap Lake – Departure (B)
You will enjoy a boat trip on the Tonle Sap lake. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East Asia and flows into Tonle Sap river, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. Here, you will see a fishermen’s “floating village” with floating schools, floating police station, etc. It is same as a big village floating on the lake and the “village” move from place to place following water levels and current. Get back to the town for free until transfer to the airport for your own departure flight.
