Spend some time in Vietnam's picturesque Northern, from the charming capital Hanoi with its thousand years of history to the enchanting Halong Bay. Stay aboard the luxurious private junk boat as you explore the secluded lagoons and caves of the bay. This trip also takes you into rural landscapes with emerald green rice paddies and remote villages in Maichau.
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
You will be welcomed at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check-in. In the Evening: Enjoy a performance of water puppetry, a traditional art performance dated from 11th century. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 2: Hanoi Full Day City Tour (B, L)
Take a full day city tour including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, His house on stilt, One pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc pagoda and the Temple of Literature. After lunch, continue to visit Hoa Lo Prison and Hoan Kiem Lake. Enjoy one hour cyclo ride through the Old Quarter. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi - Mai Chau (B, L)
Depart to Mai Chau in 3.5 hours with great views of mountains and nature along the way. Lunch at a local Thai family. After lunch, have a short hike around the village where local women sew and weave their traditional cloths. Overnight in Mai Chau Lodge.
Day 4: Mai Chau – Hanoi (B, L)
Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge, then head off for 2 hours easy cycling through rice fields and village road while enjoying the daily life and view of local farmers. Have lunch and road trip back to Hanoi. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 5: Hanoi- Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Drive to Halong bay which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage for its outstanding natural beauty. Stop en route for a rest. Arrive at Halong city, boarding and enjoy a relaxing 24h boat trip through Halong Bay. After seafood lunch, enjoy the cruise among hundreds of islets and take part in many outdoor activities such as swimming, kayaking, cave visiting. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 6: Halong Bay- Hanoi Departure (B)
Join a Tai Chi session on the sundeck or freshen up with a good swimming before breakfast while the boat cruises among hundreds of islands and islets back to the pier. Return to Hanoi airport for departure flight.
