Routes: Phnom Penh – Stung Treng – Banlung – Kampong Cham – Kampong Thom – Siem Reap
Day 1: Phnom Penh (D) On arrival Phnom Penh, you will be met and transferred to hotel for check-in. In the evening, welcome dinner at a Local restaurant. Overnight in Phnom Penh Day 02: Phnom Penh City Tour (B, L) After breakfast we will drive about 15 kilometers to the Choeng Ek Killing Fields and then to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Also known as S21, it was used by the Khmers Rouge when they came to power in 1975. You break for lunch, then visit The Royal Palace complex and National Museum. Overnight in Phnom Penh hotel Day 3: Phnom Penh - Stung Treng Province (B) After breakfast, you journey to Stung Treng, then take a boat ride to the Thala Bariwatt historical site. Please note that today is a fairly long drive. Overnight in Stung Treng. Day 4: Stung Treng - Banlung (Ratanakiri Province) (B) In the morning we drive to Banlung, the capital of Ratanakiri Province. Then to Boeng Yeak Lom Lake, an inactive volcanic lake. This is a popular spot for swimming and picnicking, then you head for the Ka Chan Waterfall. As the day draws to a close, you will walk up Eisey Pak Ta Mak Hill to admire the beautiful red sunset. Overnight in Banlung Day 5: Banlung - Ven Sai District (B) Today starts with a drive out to Ven Sai Village to visit ethnic minority groups. In this village you experience the daily life of people who live a life completely different than that in other parts of the world. Return to Banlung Town. Overnight in Banlung Day 6: Banlung - Stung Treng - Kratie & Kampong Cham (B) This morning you travel to Kratie via Stung Treng, and take a boat to observe the fresh water Dolphins in the Mekong River. En route to Kampong Cham, you will stop at a rubber plantation. The provincial capital, Kampong Cham, is on the west bank of the Mekong River and is important for transportation, trade and agriculture. Overnight in Kampong Cham Day 7: Kampong Cham - Kampong Thom - Siem Reap (B) On the way to Kampong Thom, you will stop at the historical hill temples of Phnom Srei (female hill) and Phnom Pros (male hill). Before arriving in Siem Reap you will explore the Sambor Prei Kuk Temple Group. Sambor Prei Kuk was the capital of the Kingdom of Chenla during the reign of the early-7th century King Isanavarman. You then continue our journey to Siem Reap. Overnight in Siem Reap Day 8: Siem Reap - Angkor Complex (B) After breakfast, you start your visit of Angkor with the Royal city of Angkor Thom and the famous Bayon Temple. You will also visit the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Ta Prom Temple. Next you will explore Angkor Wat until sunset. Overnight in Siem Reap Day 9: Siem Reap - Banteay Srey - Tonle Sap Lake (B, D) This day takes you 35km north of Siem Reap to the temple of Banteay Srei, which dates from 967. Banteay Srei is known for its outstanding pink sandstone carvings. Then you go on to the Landmine Museum and the Pre Rup Temples. In the afternoon, you go to Tonle Sap Lake, Asia’s largest lake. It boasts the biggest harvest of fresh water fish in the world, and swells to ten times its normal size during the wet season. Overnight in Siem Reap Day 10: Siem Reap Free Day (B) Today is free for you to explore Siem Reap Town. You will want to see the Old Market area which was the French Quarter. This is a good place for shopping at the old market and for trying delicious Khmer cuisine. There are also night markets a short distance from downtown. Overnight in Siem Reap Day 11: Siem Reap Departure (B) This is departure day and there are no activities planned. Check-out is at 12-noon, and you are free to leave at any time
