Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
Transfer to visit Ho Chi Minh Complex which includes Mausoleum, Museum and his house on stilt to learn about his life during revolutionary activities in the past. Next, visit to the One Pillar pagoda which was built in 1049 and it has become an important symbol for the locals. Continue to visit the Ethnographic museum where you can learn the various life aspects of 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam. After lunch, visit to the Literature temple–the first university of Vietnam which was built in 1070–It’s gardens and well-preserved architecture will provide a relaxing insight into Vietnam’s past. Finally, enjoy a cyclo tour to visit Old Quarter & Hoan Kiem lake then watch a Water Puppet show.
Day 3: Ninh Binh Tour (B, L)
You will embark on a journey south of about 100 kilometres to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of the Dinh & Le dynasties dating back to the 11th century. After lunch, you will continue to nearby Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its outstanding natural beauty and the scenic karst formations which contribute to its reputation as being the “Halong Bay on land.” On arrival, board a small boat and meander lazily down the peaceful river while passing through a series of caves. Late afternoon, return to the pier then transfer back to your hotel in Hanoi.
Day 4: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Depart for Halong Bay, enjoying the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields. Upon arrival, board a cruise and start cruising around the bay to see the amazing karts with different formations and then stop for a walk through the Sung Sot cave–“Amazing Cave”. There will be plenty of time for kayaking, swimming and sunbathing (if weather permitted) after the cruise anchors at a clean calm sea. Enjoy a wonderful sunset dinner on the cruise before resting to the comfort of your room. Overnight on the cruise.
Day 5: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Hue (B, L)
Breakfast, fruits, coffee and tea will be served. Continue to cruise farther before stopover at the pearl farm to see the actual cultured pearl of fishermen. Back to the cruise for checking out while the cruise will take you farther to discover the hidden beauty of the bay. Cooking class opened right on the cruise for everyone who are interested in cooking Vietnamese food. Lunch will be served on the cruise before you arrive at the harbor. Drive back to the airport for a flight to Hue. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel.
Day 6: Hue City Tour (B, L)
Enjoy a boat trip on the romantic Perfume river to visit Hue’s best known religious sites, Thien Mu pagoda which was a hotbed of anti–government protest during the early 1960s. Then continue to discover Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 – 1945. After lunch, continues with a visit to the elaborate tombs of emperors Tu Duc & Khai Dinh. This guided tour gives you a deep understanding about King’s philosophy of geomancy and how this affected royal life.
Day 7: Hue – Hoian & Sunset Cruise (B)
Leave Hue for Hoian. Visit the fascinating Cham museum & Marble Mountains en route to charming Hoian, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries. Upon arrival, check in at hotel and have a short rest. Late afternoon, take a traditional boat to a local fishing village. Here, you will enjoy river culture, bird life, local farming and the other daily activities of the locals. During cruising, you will also try some local foods & drinks on boat.
Day 8: Hoian Tour & Tra Que Village – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
Enjoy a walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, Old Tam Ky house & Japanese Bridge. Next, visit to the home of a craftsman where you will discover the daily life of local people and observe how they make a lantern. Finally, take a short ride through the countryside to Tra Que village. Here, you will observe a cooking demonstration for some local foods, enjoy a traditional foot massage then learn how to plant vegetables like local famers. Late afternoon, transfer to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel.
Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City Tour & Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L)
Depart to Cu Chi Tunnels which are a maze of underground passages used by the Vietnamese communists during the Vietnam War as protection against the American air raids. After lunch, visit to the War Remnants Museum–originally opened in September 1975, it exhibited the old military equipment from Vietnam War. Continue to visit the Reunification Palace, formerly the Presidential Palace that was the sight of South Vietnam’s surrender in April 1975. Walk down to see Notre Dame Cathedral and General Post Office which are beautiful examples of architecture from the French colonial period. Finish at the Ben Thanh market, where vendors display a wide range of goods and handicrafts, appealing to every taste.
Day 10: Mekong Delta Tour (B, L)
Transfer to Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, taking a boat trip to discover Cai Be floating market where local people sell, buy and exchange goods on their boats. Next, transfer to a village where you can see how the locals make rice paper, coconut candy & pop rice. Here, you will also enjoy free local’s specialty products, discover daily activities of locals and enjoy Vietnamese traditional music then take a small sampan rowing by hand of local to feel the real Mekong river. After lunch, free for short rest then visit to a local brick kiln before taking another boat to Vinh Long, the center of tropical fruits and stopping for a short visit at Vinh Long market then transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City Departure (B)
After breakfast, take free time for your own activities until transfer to the airport for your own departure flight.
