Destinations: Luang Prabang – Vientiane
Day 1: Luang Prabang Arrival
Upon arrival, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Free at leisure. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 2: Luang Prabang & Pak Ou Caves (B, L)
An Optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning alms giving to saffron-clad monks.
Transfer to visit the city’s temples including Wat Sene, Wat Mai and Wat Xieng Thong then take boat trip to visit Pak Ou Caves. On the way, you will also enjoy a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. After lunch, visit the Ban Xang Hai village where the local rice wine is produced. Afterward, climb up to the top of Mount Phousi to explore the sacred, gilded stupa and capture a beautiful view of the city & river at sunset. From there, visit to the Night market, where you can browse the handmade textile products. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 3: Luang Prabang & Kuang Si Waterfall & Elephant Riding (B, L)
Transfer to visit the stupa of Wat Visoun, shrines of Wat Aham and National museum. Next, enjoy a Asian elephants tour which you will venture on a 35 mins scenic journey through forests, plantations & fields. Afterwards, you head out to visit some ethnic minority villages and see how these colorful people live. Later, drive to Kuang Si waterfalls where you can swim in the turquoise pools or walk along forest paths. Return to the city by late evening to observe the sunset at Wat Phabath. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 4: Luang Prabang – Vientiane (B, G)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Vientiane. On arrival, we transfer out to see Buddha Park, a scattered and enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures near the Friendship bridge. Observing the spectacular sunset view over the Mekong River is a perfect way to finish the day. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 5: Vientiane City Tour – Departure (B)
Transfer to explore the capital by visiting the major sights including Wat Sisaket, which contains more than 8000 Buddha statues, Wat Ho Prakeo the former home of the Emerald Buddha statue and That Luang stupa, the single most important monument in Laos. You also see the Patuxay (Lao Arc de Triomphe), which was built recently in commemoration of those who died during past wars and today it is the city’s main landmark. Finally, transfer to the airport for your own departure flight home.
